Amy Prentiss
Jessica Walter stars as Amy Prentiss, the first female chief of detectives for the San Francisco Police Department, in this crime drama that was part of NBC's rotating weekly Mystery Movie. (The other three series were Columbo, McMillan and Wife, and McCloud.)
A two-part episode of Ironside that concluded its 7th season in May, 1974, introduced the character.
Despite the series winning an Emmy for Jessica Walter for her performance -- Peter Falk also won in 1975 for Columbo -- the series aired just three episodes during the 1974/1975 television season.
