Banacek aired on NBC as part of the NBC Mystery Movie series (with McMillan and Wife, Columbo and McCloud) from September 1972 through March 1974 and included a pilot (which aired in March, 1972) plus 16 episodes over 2 seasons.

George Peppard played Thomas Banacek, a Boston-based freelance insurance investigator called in to solve seemingly impossible thefts of valuable objects; he preferred the term "restorations" to describe his occupation.
