A Man Called Hawk
This spin-off from the Spenser for Hire series of made-for-television movies adapted from the novels by Robert B. Parker stars Avery Brooks as Hawk, a go-to guy for Spenser in the books and movies. The series relocated the character from Boston to Washington DC, and added a new character, Hawk's mentor, known only as the "Old Man" (Moses Gunn).
A mid-season replacement series for ABC, A Man Called Hawk aired just 13 episodes during the spring of 1989.
