Miami Vice aired on NBC from September 1984 through June 1989 and included 111 episodes over 5 seasons. The final episode of the series was never aired on NBC; it was shown 6 months later on USA Network.

Don Johnson and Philip Michael Thomas starred as Detectives James "Sonny" Crockett and Ricardo "Rico" Tubbs of the Miami police department vice squad.

A theatrical movie based on the series starring Jamie Foxx and Colin Farrell was released in 2006.
