Southland
Southland depicted the lives of police officers living and working in Los Angeles. The large ensemble cast is led by Michael Cudlitz who plays John Cooper, a no-nonsense veteran cop assigned to train a young rookie (Ben McKenzie).
The series debuted as a mid-season replacement on NBC in early 2009, and was renewed for a second season before being canceled just before it was to begin airing. TNT subsequently picked up the broadcast rights to the entire series.
