Wallander
Based on characters created by Swedish crime novelist Henning Mankell, Kenneth Branagh stars as homicide detective Kurt Wallander in this BBC series that debuted in November 2008.
These are the first English language adaptations of the series. Nine of the novels have been adapted for theatrical release in Sweden, and a Swedish television series (starring Krister Henriksson as the titular character) aired from 2005 through 2006.
